Maybe VoIP carriers should think twice before setting up shop in a country that doesn't welcome the technology. Korean businessman Ko Don Chul set up five VoIP systems in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. VoIP isn't allowed in Vietnam. After a two-day trial, during which prosecutors said Ko cost the government more than $1.1 million in fees, Ko was sentenced to 16 years in jail. He has asked for a retrial.
