It's in the Cloud - 2010 Predictions

Tools

Hosted Voice, Virtual PBX and Voice on Demand all look to take a chunk of this year's projected rollout of VoIP services.

By now we all know about Hosted Voice but look for it to get bigger. Requiring a quick setup and with more businesses switching to IP communications, Hosted Voice is a simple way to harness the cloud for even more cost savings. Virtual PBX is a lot like Hosted Voice but now the whole PBX system is software based with no physical presence. With this use of the cloud even workers outside the office can get the same VoIP system as those in the office. Twilio, Cloudvox, Voxygen, IfByPhone, Voxeo, and Jaduka all offer voice on demand cloud based APIs that companies can quickly add to their websites to connect phonecalls to and from their companies and their related applications. With these cloud based solutions, even the equipments cost argument for why not to switch to VoIP can be thrown out in 2010.
