BT launches UC planning services in North America

BT has launched a new family of unified communication and collaboration (UCC) consulting services in North America. Organizations will be able to call upon BT's UCC Strategic Planning and Assessment services to help develop plans for implementing UCC into business processes and work environments.

Four services will be available: UCC Strategic Planning, to develop a UCC strategy and roadmap tailored to business goals; UCC Business Case, to define the business benefits of a UCC strategy with a recommended implementation approach; UCC ROI, to provide number crunching for hard and soft savings on UCC decisions; and UCC Infrastructure Gap Analysis, to look at the existing organization's technology to assess how ready it is for implementing UCC capabilities.

BT joins a crowded "We're here to help with UC" marketplace, competing against more established players such as the Microsoft/Nortel UC alliance and Verizon Business, as well as newer players such as the Accenture/Cisco's venture.
