Then again, Skype may be getting the message. One report says that Skype is preparing a new software rev that will give network admins the ability to manage how Skype connects to the Net as well as the ability to disable any of several functions--including file sharing. Intel, apparently, managed to get Skype to connect via a proxy service. Most companies don't have that kind of clout. Skype claims that 30 percent of its 110 million subscribers use it for business, but there's no word about the size of those businesses; with this new admin-friendly software, expect Skype to become even more popular.
