Cisco teams with Agito for eFMC solution

Agito Networks has announced it is collaborating with Cisco for deploying its enterprise FMC solution and will work to support Cisco's Motion vision for integrating mobility into the enterprise.

Agito has integrated its RoamAnywhere Mobility Router with Cisco's newly announced 3300 Series Mobility Services Engine. Agate's RoamAnywhere is a heavy-duty wireless router explicitly designed and optimized for WiFi/cellular operators and it will tap into network data pulled together by the Mobility Services Engine to add further reliability to Agito's sub-100ms automatic handoffs between WiFi and cellular networks; access to the data is done through an API.

According to an Agito spokesperson, the folks at Cisco (and their customers) have been clamoring for an enterprise FMC customer solution. RoamAnywhere provides both the highly optimized wireless router and an applications-layer client on dual-mode handsets to deliver sub-100ms automatic location-aware handovers between the corporate WiFi and cellular networks. There's some RF-based location-aware magic to make sure everything is handled smoothly.
