Dell adds Toktumi VoIP service to catalog

Tools

VoIP provider Toktumi will co-brand and market its services through a micro-site (because people can't simply say "a couple of web pages") on Dell.com.

The "Virtual Office Phone Service" being marketed through Dell (and Staples) includes the usual bells-and-whistles of caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, visual voicemail, auto receptionist and voicemail-to-email, plus not-so-average features like conferencing for up to 20 people and a free 800 number. The service costs $14.95 per month with additional charges for international calls. There's also unlimited LD calling within the US and Canada from your PC.

Access to the Toktumi service can be done via softphone on a PC or via a mobile phone. One might lean toward the soft phone, because it includes a "search dialing" feature that allows you to type in a name or a keyword of a person or business and then have phone numbers found by searching Outlook contacts and the web.

Let everyone be clear - Neither Dell nor Toktumi have an exclusive relationship here. Dell has been selling Fonality's SMB IP PBX solution on their website, and Toktumi's first business partner was Staples.com.
