Nimbuzz to come preloaded on Toshiba TG01 smartphone

Nimbuzz announced Monday that its social messaging client will come pre-loaded on Toshiba's TG01 handset, which will be released later this year. The Nimbuzz pre-load, which combines functionality with all major IM clients and several prominent social networking sites, will add instant messaging and social networking capabilities to the Toshiba mobile platform.

Bertand Issard, head of product planning and strategy for Toshiba's Mobile Communications Division in Europe, said Toshiba selected Nimbuzz for its mass market appeal and the application's performance record.

"Nimbuzz will complete the PC like Internet experience of TG01 from flash site browsing to social networking," Issard said.

Toshiba will demo the TG01 with the Nimbuzz features this week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
