Orange to launch "Unique" WiFi/cell service

Tools

The European cellco Orange is launching its Unique converged service ("Unique" being its brand name, not a value or news judgment). The service, which launches in November, promises clean handoffs between WiFi and cellular networks--and calls started on your home network powered by Orange broadband continue to be free, even when you're "roaming" in the cellular net. (It's not clear if the calls are tied to your home network or just any old WiFi network you happen to call out on.) Each home can have up to six Unique phones, though only three of them can be active at the same time. Pricing, including broadband, starts at 50 pounds/month.
