Siemens EC launches SMB product, gets new CEO

Siemens Enterprise Communications announced that its OpenScape Office UC application suite can now be used on its HiPath 3000 converged voice system for the SMB market. The OpenScape product can support up to 384 enterprise users and offers mobility, presence and contact center capabilities. Its new compatibility with the HiPath 3000 system also means that customers, including those still on TDM architecture, can upgrade to the OpenScape product with a simple software download and install, according to the company. The product will be available through Siemens EC's resellers throughout North America.

In other news, Siemens EC announced it will replace current CEO Jim O'Neill, who has held the position since October 2008, with Mark Stone, current chairman of the board for the company.
