Sipera finds phone vulnerabilities

Tools

Phones on an enterprise VoIP network are, by definition, just as vulnerable to attack as computers on the network. Sipera's VIPER lab has found six vulnerabilities in three popular phones. Two flaws in the software on the Astra 9112i SIP phones can result in denial of service attacks; one flaw in the Polycom SoundPoint IP 601 phone can also cause a DoS attack while another can cause the phone to reboot; and problems with the Snom 320 SIP phones can allow access to user's phone records and could allow an unauthorized user to make toll calls.
