Skype to Go now available to all users

Tools

Skype is now offering its Skype to Go service for international calling to all paying users, rather than just those subscribed to its Pro plan. The plan lets subscribers make once pricey international calls with their Skype Out credits, significantly reducing the cost of international dialing.

VoIP Watch points out that the move reduces the value of Skype's Unlimited and Pro plans, which used to offer Skype to Go as a rationale for the more expensive plans. Time will tell if moving Skype to Go out from under the premium plan umbrella leads to fewer premium sign-ups, or if it merely encourages users to use Skype Out minutes faster, thus generating more revenue for the EBay subsidiary.
