SpinVox breaks into VoIP with Skype
London voice-to-texter SpinVox cut a deal with Skype to provide the service to its VoIP customers. SpinVox will allow Skypers to receive voicemail calls in text form on their cell phones, with no special software required.
The service will be provided in English, Spanish, French and German. It will be launched later this year, according to Wired blogger Michael Calore.
The deal with Skype marks SpinVox's grand entrance into the VoIP market. Skype, based in Luxembourg and owned by eBay, is estimated to have around 220 million users.
