UC to grow to $30B market

According to two new reports from Wainhouse Research, the market for unified communications will grow to $30 billion within five years.

Rapid growth will be due in large part to the complexity of premises-based UC products with UC services revenues outgrowing traditional conferencing services by 2013 or 2014. The market will rebound in the short term, but will still be held back by the price-per-user coupled with the poor economy. Video providers are also expected to see a 17 percent growth over the next five years according to the report. 

This report mirrors finding by ABI Research which found that UC would be going from a million dollar industry to a billion dollar industry in a few short years. With VoIP recently being called the industry of the decade and perhaps even the industry of the next decade, it looks like UC will be a big part of that future growth.
