Voxeo Reaches into Asia
Voxeo Corporation has acquired Beijing-based Micromethod Technologies. Did they also score some Olympic tickets in the deal?
Voxeo, a leading provider of IVR and VoIP platforms and services, says the acquisition of Micromethod bolsters its line of SIP-focused products and services and serves as the foundation of Voxeo's expansion into the Asia Pacific market. As a part of the deal, all of Micromethod's employees have joined Voxeo and will work for Voxeo's newly launched Asia Pacific subsidiary. Micromethod CEO Kevin Lu has been named GM of Voxeo Asia-Pacific, while Micromethod CTO Wei Chen has been named Chief Architect of Voxeo worldwide.
Financial terms of the deal were, alas, not disclosed.
Customers currently using Micromethod technology include Tellme and GMarket, as well as "leading" video and wireless communications vendors. Micromethod products include an end-to-end SIP development platform, the SIPoint solution for SIP user collaboration, connectivity and messaging, and a SIP firewall/NAT/VPN solution.
Voxeo will continue to sell and enhance Micromethod products and will also integrate them with the company's Prophecy premise software, Evolution hosting, and new products and service to be announced over the next six months.
