Ingate's firewall products are fine, but that's not what makes the company fierce. What puts Ingate on the list is its work on SIP trunking--the idea that pieces of the SIP infrastructure should work together seamlessly and without any fuss. That's always been the promise of SIP and IMS, though the promise is sometimes obscured by the time products hit the market. Ingate, however, is gathering other vendors to ensure interoperability, with all the cost and time savings that will accrue.
